Additionally, as you browse the Website, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Website, and information about how you interact with the Website. We refer to this automatically collected information as "Device Information".

We refer to this collectively as "Home and Household Information." We recognize that this is private information about where and how you live, and we treat it accordingly.

We use Home and Household Information solely to perform the service you purchased, to communicate with you about it, and to maintain our professional records.

We do not sell it. We do not use it for advertising or targeting. We will not publish, display, or use it publicly, or as an example, case study, testimonial, or teaching material, without your separate written permission. That permission may be given or withheld for any reason, may be given on an anonymized basis, and may be withdrawn at any time as to future use.

Home and Household Information is stored in access-restricted cloud storage and is accessible only to Heather Hanson.

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We use the Provided Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Website, including processing your payment information, delivering products, providing you with invoices and order confirmations, and performing any service you have purchased. Additionally, we use Provided Information to:

  • Communicate with you;

  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information relating to our products or services.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Website, for example by generating analytics about how our visitors browse and interact with the Website and to assess the success of our marketing campaigns.

HOW WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information as described above. We use Google Analytics to help us understand how our visitors use the Website. You can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information at https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/, and you can opt out of Google Analytics at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Retention. We retain general Personal Information, such as your name and email address, for as long as you remain subscribed to our communications or hold access to a product, and thereafter for as long as necessary for our business records.

We retain Home and Household Information, and the deliverables we prepare for you, for seven (7) years following completion of your engagement, after which they are deleted. We may retain these materials for a longer period where a claim arising from the work remains possible under applicable law, or where retention is required by law, by our insurers, or by the rules governing our professional license. This retention period reflects the fact that design and planning work relating to a home may be built in stages over several years, and that the periods during which a claim may be brought can extend well beyond the end of our engagement with you.

Deletion. You may request deletion of your Personal Information at any time by emailing hello@heatherhansonhomes.com. We will honor such requests except as to information we reasonably need to retain in order to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim. Where we retain information on that basis, we will not use it for any purpose other than those stated.

If you make a purchase on this Website, download a free resource in exchange for your email address, and/or opt in to receive emails, you agree to receive email communications from us, including newsletters, site updates, promotions, and other announcements and correspondence. If you unsubscribe, you understand that you may no longer receive information or updates from us, including promotions or product updates. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not stop transactional messages relating to a purchase you have made.
