The Avenue

Designed for families balancing everyday life, work-from-home, and a need for calm, well-organized space that holds up over time.

House Plan Collection

One Design.
Three Right-Sized Versions.

Each version shares the same architectural core. The difference is capacity—supporting spaces layered around that core so you can choose the amount of house that fits your daily life without redesigning everything from scratch.

The Avenue House Plan is available in three versions.

3 Bedroom | 2.5 Bathroom | Dedicated Office | Attached Garage | 2,615 sf

The Petite version is the lightest footprint in the collection. It’s designed to feel complete, not minimal—with a fully resolved core and less space that turns into extra work.

This version supports real daily life—work-from-home rhythms, calm drop zones, and a home that stays organized without constant effort.

A dedicated office at the front of the house is ideal for people who see clients in their work from home office, but don't want the clients to come into the private home space.

The kitchen is cozy but practical. A drink/coffee bar separate from the cooking zone keeps guests and drinkware out of the chef's way. An ample pantry with working counterspace is ideal for keeping mess out of the kitchen or long term baking projects (like sourdough bread that takes alllll day long).

The Primary Suite is tucked away from the common spaces and placed at the back of the house to provide a relaxing retreat at the end of a long day.

The entire laundry cycle can take place in the laundry room itself, keeping things organized and clutter free. Plus, a drop zone, and mudroom right by the garage entrance captures all the things you need to grab quick: keys, purse, shoes, jackets, backpacks. No more backpacks or mail on the kitchen island!

Upstairs, the core contains two spare bedrooms with a privacy foreward bathroom in between. Someone can be in the vanity room while someone else is in the wet room, without compromising their privacy.

With built-in shelves, a cozy fireplace, and window seats in the upstairs hallway, this home feels like a cozy craftsman house but with the layout and flow for modern life.

From the Architect

The Avenue was inspired by my childhood home: a beautiful craftsman on 4th Avenue.

This house had a lovely front sunroom with classic single pane windows, a beautiful brick fireplace centered in the living room, and lots of natural light in the dining room room.

My dad - an architect and contractor himself - added a modern kitchen, family room, and second floor to make this traditional craftsman work for our busy family of 5.

While the Avenue Collection is different from my childhood home, it is designed with the same cozy warmth and family heart.

Warmly,

Heather

What is Included

What’s included with your plan purchase:

Every plan set includes the architectural construction drawings needed to build the home design.

Included:
  • area plans
  • floor plans
  • roof plans
  • elevations
  • sections
  • interior elevations
  • reflected ceiling plans
  • electrical diagrams
  • window/door schedules
  • renderings

Not included (because they are site- and jurisdiction-specific):
  • Foundation plan
  • Structural drawings
  • Mechanical drawings

Because every build site and jurisdiction is different, you may need a local structural engineer (and other local professionals) to complete site-specific requirements. If your jurisdiction requires an architect’s stamp, Heather Hanson Homes does not provide one. Confirm requirements before purchasing.

The Build Clarity Framework

Build Clarity is the right-sizing framework that helps you decide how much house you actually need—so you can choose a plan without second-guessing.
It explains why these decisions feel hard, teaches core vs. capacity, and helps you apply the logic to your real life—not a hypothetical future.
